Why use Io-Link in industry?

IO -Link is a communication technology that can transform traditional hardware from simple inputs and outputs into configurable and programmable network devices. It can significantly reduce wired connections, improve the readability and maintainability of robotic control and process control systems, and realize intelligent devices. The use of IO -Link can reduce installation time, shorten the installation time of complex mechanical systems, and improve work efficiency. In addition, IO -Link can free technicians from maintenance tasks and better configure and analyze the system to meet changing market demands.


Io-Link reduces communication costs. Compared with traditional controllers, the main station not only has more connected Rfids, but also has a higher cost performance. For example, when the Io-Link RFID solution connects 24 RFIDs, three Io-Link main stations need to be connected in parallel.Also connect 24 RFIDs, the bus RFID solution must connect 24 io links in parallel, which simplifies the selection of the solution.

Traditional RFID solutions require the selection of different product models with different protocols for the different controllers, but the Io-Link solution does not need that. Our Io-Link master station now supports Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT protocols and for different customer needs, the selection is easier.



Io-Link optimizes field wiring. The Io-Link master station can be connected not only to Io-Link rfid, but also to conventional Sensors. With the conventional bus RFID solution, sensors require additional wiring, which increases wiring complexity and makes troubleshooting more difficult. As with our Io-Link, the wiring typically consists of M12 wires. IO -Link devices can be easily connected using only M12 wires, etc., eliminating errors caused by incorrect wiring.

Fewer Servo Cable types are required, as standard industrial cables can be used for data transmission.Furthermore, only 1 cable is required to connect to the PLC, and the high degree of protection IP67 allows the direct use of several IO-Link masters in the field.



Through the controller connection scheme, the Io-Link scheme reduces the number of field network nodes. Traditional bus RFID controllers can connect up to four read/write heads. The on-site read/write head RFID controller occupies a large number of communication IP nodes, which not only occupies network resources, but also increases the workload of programming and debugging. Io-Link doesn't have to think as much.
