The Compact I/O Module are about half the size of standard Ethercat Module Terminals, but have exactly the same functionality. These modules mount directly to custom designed printed circuit boards using specific Connector, and the entire signal distribution board is connected to the larger PLC system via prefabricated cables or coded plug connectors. Since the circuit board is basically pre-assembled, it can improve the efficiency and cost performance of mass production compared with traditional wired terminal modules.
The compact I/O modules significantly reduce hardware requirements as well as costs and reduce device assembly time by 50%.
